Graco Strollers Recalled

Abby Greenhill
You couldn't wait to have a baby. You do all you can to protect your health and the health of your unborn child. The big day arrives and all is well. Then the worry truly begins. It seems every time we turn around another baby related item is being recalled - food, toys, beds, etc. Now Graco strollers have been recalled.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of 2 million Graco strollers. The recall came about after 4 infants were trapped in the strollers and were strangled to death.

The recalled products are older Graco strollers including:

* The Graco Quattro Tour model, and

* The MetroLite Strollers and travel systems

These products were made before 2007 and were distributed by Graco Children's Products, Inc. of Atlanta. They were manufactured before upgrades were made to the products to prevent this from happening. The strollers were sold all across the US for several years, beginning in November of 2000 through December of 2007.

For a list of model numbers of the recalled products, go to www.gracobaby.com.

If you have a recalled stroller, call 1-877-828-4046 for further information on obtaining a free repair kit. According to this Graco, the strollers can still be used with an infant car seat as part of the travel system.

Since these are older strollers, it is possible some of you may have purchased them at a yard sale, thrift shop or a flea market. If you aren't sure of the model number of the stroller you have, call the toll free number. It is better to be thorough and check this out. Don't risk injury to your child.

If you don't feel comfortable using the stroller, then don't use it until it is fixed. Call for the free repair kit. Pass this information on to other mom's who may be using these Graco Strollers. Do everything you can to protect your children!
