Graduation Gift Ideas for College Graduates

Sally Albright
Graduating from college is a big deal. Just ask my husband who has been hard at it for the last three years in pursuit of a bachelor's degree. Last week was his final exams and I can now proudly say that he is a college graduate. If you know of a family member or close friend who will be graduating soon you may be thinking of getting them a gift to celebrate the occasion. However, you may not know just what to get. Here are some ideas for college graduate presents that you may be able to use.

Professional Resume

If your college graduate will be in search for a job then they will need a resume to hand out to potential employers. A resume is like a first impression and should be taken seriously. To help your graduate find their first job you can give them a gift certificate or offer to pay for their resume to be professionally written. It would be one less thing for the recent graduate to worry about which makes it a great gift option.

Clothing Gift Card

Hopefully the professional resume has landed the college graduate an interview with a perspective employer. Once your college graduate has begun making appointments for interviews they will need to polish up their wardrobe as well. When going to an interview one of the most important things to consider is your appearance. It can make or break you. You want your college graduate to show up in an outfit that screams professionalism. You can help them dress sharp by offering them a gift card to a clothing store where they can find professional looking attire.

A Gift to the Spa

Going through college can be stressful. Like my husband there are college graduates who not only attend college full time but, they work full time as well. For these college graduates you may consider giving them a gift card to a local spa to be pampered. After all, they deserve it.

Beautiful Picture Frame

Once your college graduate recieves their diploma they are going to want to frame it and hang it up on their wall. You can purchase a beautiful frame for the college graduate or give them a gift card to a specialty framing store to have the college degree framed themselves.

A Wallet with Gift Cards

Let your college graduate dine out for their lunch break by offering them a variety of gift cards for their favorite local restaurants. A single lunch meal doesn't cost much and can allow you to buy enough gift cards for an entire week of work lunches for your college graduate.

Hopefully you have found an idea that will work as a great gift for your own college graduate. If you have any ideas to share please feel free to share them below.

I like the idea of giving a professional resume as a gift. I can't remember what I received when I graduated from university. I've told my husband to start writing a list of what he would like me to give him when he graduates.
