Graffiti6 Debut Single: 'Annie You Save Me' (VIDEO), Plus Graffiti6 Music Review

A friend of mine recently turned me on to something brand new, and pretty much completely out of control: a hot new UK pop outfit dubbed Graffiti6! Graffiti6 is about to release their first single on Monday 7/26, but you can check out their music right now on Myspace. Below, find my new review of Graffiti6 tunes, as available on their Myspace page, and a link to the "Annie You Save Me" video!

Stay tuned for my exclusive Tucson Rock Music Examiner interview with producer TommyD of Graffiti6, coming soon on Examiner.com!

Graffiti6 Brings New Sound, Life To UK Music Scene

Their bio begins, "The unlikely pairing of producer TommyD and singer/songwriter Jamie Scott began 18 months ago...." And after checking out the tunes on the group's Myspace page, that's all I need to know. TommyD plus Jamie Scott apparently equals something wonderful!

First up, the very radio-friendly "Annie, You Save Me", which will be released as Graffiti6's debut single on Monday, July 26, 2010. The song has a good beat, and has definite potential for success as a single. Check out the official music video for "Annie, You Save Me" here!

The next Graffiti6 track, "Stare Into The Sun", is a psych-pop explosion of sound, with a blues-y feel. Expressing something lacking all too often in new music, "Stare Into This Sun" actually takes a major step back in a very good way. There's soul, there's feeling and you can wrap yourself in the lyrics until the whole song makes sense.

"Stop Mary" takes the listener on a different leg of the same journey. Faster, more up-tempo than "Stare Into The Sun"; brighter somehow. This song is pure pop, through and through. "Stop Mary" should retroactively be added to the soundtrack of every upbeat, yet predictable American rom-com from 1983-1996.

"This Man" is a return to a slower, more soulful pace. There's a definite shift in tone, however, with the addition of an R&B element. Surprisingly, it works. Graffiti6 is evolving even as they debut. It's incredibly refreshing.

Again, hit up the Graffiti6 Myspace page at the link above for more info; you'll be glad you did!
