Grahamwich, the long awaited sandwich shop by celebrity chef Graham Elliot, finally opened its doors on December 15. So what took so long? The word on the street is Graham Elliot ran into construction delays due to the landmark status of the former Tree Studios artist compound that houses the new eatery. Let's hope the wait has been worth it!

The counter service sandwich shop has just eight sandwiches on the menu, but they are like nothing you have seen before. One example of the creativity of Grahamwich's sandwiches is called the Jibarito Press. Pork shoulder is paired with pickled mangos, habenero mustard, queso fresco and plantains. Whether or not this sounds tempting, you have to admit it is creative!

Besides sandwiches, Grahamwich serves up the famous popcorn that is a trademark of the fine dining Graham Elliot restaurant. Soft serve ice cream, homemade chips dubbed g'wich chips and soda made in house round out the small but interesting menu.

Grahamwich is located at 615 N. State Street. All sandwiches cost $10 and the only payment taken at this time is cash.
