The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards took place last night in Southern California, and you all know what that means: High fashion, creativity and ingenuity were out in full force on the Red Carpet. While some stars surprised with toned-down duds, others showed up ready to make serious fashion statements. So who leapt to the front of the fashion conga line and made my Grammy Awards best dressed list for 2010? Read on for the details, and click each star's name to see a photo.

Grammy Awards Best Dressed Pick #1: Sugarland. Perfect harmony? Check! And I'm not just talking about their musical skills. Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush, who are the voice and the guitar behind country super-duo Sugarland, were an ideal pair and a 2010 Grammy Best Dressed list shoo-in. Jennifer looked itty bitty in her long red gown with black accents; the side cut-outs were flattering beyond belief and created an amazing hourglass. Kristian was all about country/gangster fusion in a slick black suit and gray hat. It Happens, but not to Sugarland.

Grammy Awards Best Dressed Pick #2: Taylor Swift. Big winner Taylor looked like a real-life princess in her shimmering dark blue off-the-shoulder Kaufman Franco gown. But what do I like the most about this fashion choice? Taylor continues to demonstrate that young women don't need to dress like tramps, sluts, harlots or vamps to get attention and be successful, even in the dog eat dog entertainment world. Work it, girl.

Grammy Awards Best Dressed Pick #3: Kings of Leon. It's a rare night when a man - much less an entire group of men! - will make my best dressed list, but tonight's the night. Kings of Leon brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared Followill and cousin Matthew Followil looked smooth, sleek, sophistocated and not at all rockeresque in their dapper suits. Two of them even wore neckties! I know they'll probably be back in dirty jeans and t-shirts tomorrow, but oh, what a Grammy night.

Grammy Awards Best Dressed Pick #4: Mya. The songstress may have lost out to Donny Osmond on Dancing with the Stars, but Mya won a Grammy Best Dressed nod with her perfectly fitted silvery dress and loose, wavy locks. Her gown featured a deep V-neck and wide shoulder straps that nicely showcased her gorgeous warm skintone. This girl can dance and dress!

Grammy Awards Best Dressed Pick #5: Keri Hilson. The Best New Artist Grammy nominee was a knockout in an ultra glamorous, mermaid-style strapless gown that was reminiscent of days gone by. The creamy color was an ideal match for Keri's skintone, and the updo? The perfect finish to an excellent ensemble.

Grammy Awards Best Dressed Pick #6: Lady Gaga. That's right, you read it correctly: Lady Gaga. I hemmed and hawed over this one for quite a while before I made the decision to include her on my list. I finally pulled the trigger because (and yes, I'm serious) the Poker Face diva was a dead ringer for Aurora from Sleeping Beauty in her custom Armani creation, and I'm the mom of a 5-year old daughter who loves that story. The yellow hair, the silver dress, the dreamy, wispy pink swirls - all things that are confusing to a grown-up, but fascinating to a little girl. (And yes, I'm deliberately ignoring the totally bizarre pointy thing she carried around.) So sweetie, this pick's for you. And to Lady Gaga: Nice job. I was pleased to not see your butt or boobs hanging out for once.

So that's that: From brave to bold to classic to chic, it's my 2010 Grammy Awards best dressed list.

There's a sick part of me that loves the worst dressed list. Although many times I disagree with the best dressed.
