The 52nd Grammy Awards took place on January 31 at The Staples Center in Los Angeles. The big winners were Taylor Swift and Beyonce who won four and six Grammys each, respectively.

Swift won the coveted "Album of the Year" award for "Fearless", along with three other Grammys while Beyonce took home six, including "Best Female Pop Vocal Performance" for "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)."

Perhaps the highlight of the Grammys was when Michael Jackson's oldest children, Paris and Prince Michael, accepted their father's lifetime achievement award. Prince Michael said, "To all his songs, his message was simple, love."

Paris also spoke and stated "Daddy was supposed to be here. Daddy was going to perform last year. Thank you. We love you Daddy."

The children, along with several other family members, wore black suits with red armbands on the jacket sleeves. Jackson's "Earth Song" was performed right before the children spoke.

Kings of Leon beat both Beyonce and Swift by nabbing the Grammy for record of the year with "Use Somebody." Kings of Leon ended up with three Grammys. Caleb Followill, the Kings lead singer, stated backstage "We're getting my mom wasted."

The Black Eyed Peas and Jay-Z also won three Grammys apiece.

Other winners included Green Day which won the best rock album, Stephen Colbert, who won best comedy album for "A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All!"

The Rap/sung collaboration award was given to Jay-Z, Rihanna and Kanye West.

Lady Gaga opened the 52nd Annual Grammys Show wearing a futuristic outfit and won two Grammys that had already been presented in the pre-telecast. "Poker Face" won in the best dance recording category while "The Fame", her CD, won for best electronic/dance.
