KF: Good afternoon Dallas, thanks so much for speaking with us today. Can you tell our audience what DAFME stands for?
DA: The Dallas Austin Foundation for Music Education.
KF: When did you start this foundation and why?
DA: In 2003 when I saw the need for Atlanta's youth to have more exposure to music programs that would allow them to excel academically. "We recognize that young people who are exposed to music programs excel academically and are more likely to attend college".
KF: That's great. So how many graduates has DAFME had since its inception?
DA: We currently have over 2000 graduates that have benefited from the music engineering, marketing, songwriting and business development curriculum since 2003.
KF: What other assistance does the Dallas Austin Foundation provide?
DA: We provide financial assistance and scholarships to help maintain and develop musical arts in Atlanta City Schools.
KF: According to Crystal Ellis with Urban Works Public Relations firm you are planning a really special event on next Saturday, July 23, 2011.
DA: Yes, it's "Casino Royale" being held in a private location in Atlanta, Georgia
KF: Wow..Sounds interesting. So, tell me a little bit more about this charity event.
DA: This year's DAFME benefit will have an interactive James Bond theme.
KF: Sounds like danger and intrigue all wrapped up in one!
DA: There will be Lights, Camera's and lots of Casino Action! Guest will be able to try their hand at Montenegro style games such as Roulette, Craps, Blackjack and Poker.
KF: What will the proceeds go towards Dallas?
DA: All of the proceeds from the Casino Royale Charity event will benefit the year-round music education programming and operations of DAFME.
KF: How can people learn more information about DAFME and Donate to the cause?
DA: Visit DAFME's website at www.dafme.org for more information.
KF: Thanks so much for sharing this information with us today and I would encourage all our readers to go to Dallas' website and donate to such a worthy cause. Our children deserve a brighter future and what better way than through music education.
