Grammy's Pot Pie 5 Star Entrees for Dogs-Product Review

A Better Dog Food May Give You a Healthier Pet

Pat Anthony
Grammy's Pot Pie ™ 5 Star Entrees For Dogs has become a favorite in our household for several reasons. While working in another state I was unable to find the food usually fed to a fussy dog that travels with me. A kind groomer with a pet spa introduced me to Grammy's Pot Pie. ™

The first ingredient listed on the bag of Grammy's Pot Pie™ dry dog food is organic chicken. Although I am vegan I feed a dog that is not. I have always avoided dog foods that list corn as an ingredient, and have noticed several top brands have corn listed. Some brands actually have corn listed as the first ingredient. Wanting the best product I can get for the money I pay, it seems corn should not be in dog food. If you have a dog with allergies it may be even more important to avoid corn.

To be assured the dog is getting a balanced diet I looked for other ingredients that are important for the dog's health. I was impressed by the packaging and the easy to understand explanation of why some ingredients were included. For instance, next to a picture of what appears to be blueberries and an apple are the words DeliciousFruits. There is an explanation of why these are included. Most of us know blueberries are high in antioxidants, which are important for humans, but may not be aware that these are a healthy food for dogs also.

Grammy's Pot Pie™ contains freeze-dried peas, carrots, apples and potatoes.A complete ingredient list as stated on the bag is listed below. Most of us realize dogs do not care what we see in the food. The dogs want something that tastes good. Those who sell pet food must appeal to humans first or the product will never reach our pet. Merrick,™ the company that produces the dog food mentioned, is a family owned business based in Amarillo, Texas. Family owned and small businesses are often a first choice for many of us.

The small kibble style bits of dog food can be mixed with a little water to produce a gravy or served dry. The pieces of dry food are small enough for toy breeds. Also important to me, Grammy's Pot Pie™ contains vitamins and supplements many pet owners buy for their dogs. It may be if you are now giving your dog chondroitin sulfate and glucosamine hydrochloride the amount included in this pet product may be all you need. Check with your veterinarian to learn more about these supplements.

Many of us do understand that the cute packages such as Grammy's Pot Pie™ uses are for the humans. Pictures of the colorful bits of added product make people happy. The dog would no doubt eat the food no matter what color it was.

The package for Grammy's Pot Pie™ has a scripture on the back-Proverbs 12:10. This may be important to anyone who feels we have a scriptural responsibility to take care of animals in a kindly manner.

Grammy's Pot Pie™ 5 Star Entrees For Dogs was accepted quickly by the picky dog I feed. He finished the first serving as soon as it was placed in front of him. Since that date this dog has not eaten anything other than Grammy's Pot Pie. Three months and 15 pounds of dog food later I'm happy and the dog is happy.

I would recommend Grammy's Pot Pie™ to anyone with a dog.

Very informative article on Grammy's Pot Pie 5 Star Entrees for Dogs-Product Review! We ended up going back to lower priced food, as our poochie gets loose bowels from better food, but give him vitmains. Corn is one ingredient we look for and do not like it in dog food either. Thumbs up! :)
