Gran Turismo 5 Video Game Review: The Gran Turismo 5 Review is the Most Fun I've Had in a Long Time

With 3D Graphics, 7.1 Surround Sound and Amazing Realizm Gran Turismo 5 Has Almost No Shortcomings

Back in the day of the original Sony Play Station, Polyphony Digital released it's first Gran Turismo video game and in doing so, reinvented what a car racing video game should and could be.

With each subsequent release, Polyphony Digital always pushed the envelope and exploited the processing power of the Sony PlayStation, PlayStation 2 and now PlayStation 3.

What is incredible about Gran Turismo 5 is just how perfectly Polyphony Digital just nailed the physics of the game. The realism that Gran Turismo 5 brings to the table is stunning and even a little bit frightening.

Realism aside, Gran Turismo 5 gives the player so very much that it would almost take a whole book to describe all the features. Even though I'm not doing the video game justice let me rattle off a few of the features that players can expect.

First, the game can be played in full 3D mode, if you're set up to take advantage of 3D that is.

You have 100 different race tracks to choose from and more than a thousand different cars to play with. Let me repeat that, Gran Turismo 5 gives you a choice of over 1000, one with three zero's, cars to choose from.

We're just getting started here, don't for a moment think that I've even scraped the surface.

Is your PS3 hooked up to a kicking audio system? If so, 7.1 surround sound will make you believe that you're in a car and the 1080p at 60 frames per second video will convince you that you're about to go for a very fast ride.

I wasn't able to test out the game in 3D mode, I'm not equipped for that. However, a close friend of mine is set up for 3D he tells me that Gran Turismo 5 in 3D gives you an essential ability to judge distances.

I did manage to sneak a peak at his setup and did see for myself what Gran Turismo 5 in 3D brings to the table and in simple terms, it brings stunning beauty aside from the aforementioned advantage of 3D.

There is so much more I could tell you about Gran Turismo 5 but I'd have to write a book. It is priced accordingly with other titles of this stature but well worth it in my opinion.
