Grand Champion Animals Awarded and Auctioned at Henry County Ohio Fair
The 157th Henry County Fair Crowned Junior Fair Participants for Animal Projects
The 2010 Henry County Fair in Napoleon, Ohio concluded on August 19. The week long event was rich in traditional activities such as tractor pulling, a closing night demolition derby, an area school cheerleading competition, the annual Tomato Festival Pageant, harness racing, and much more.
Animal Project Winners at Henry County Fair
Rabbits, water fowl, turkeys, lambs, hogs, and goats all get into the act with dairy and beef steers at Napoleon, Ohio's Henry County Fair and are auctioned off at top prices.
The auctioned winners have been the projects of area 4-H Club members, who raised and/or trained their animals for the show ring and auction. The following are some of the 2010 animal project winners:
Grand Champion Market Lamb, $1,000 -- raised by Olivia Knipp -- purchased by Ag Credit, Sauder Woodworking, and Gerald Grain Center.
Reserve Champion Lamb, $815 -- raised by Rebekah Eggers -- sold to Custom Ag Solutions, Farmers and Merchants State Bank, and Gerald Grain Center.
Champion Market Broilers, $545 -- raised by Katelyn Hesterman -- purchased by Big Buffalo Pawn Shop of Delta, Fin Farm LLC.
Reserve Champion Broilers, $450 -- raised by Ben Waisner -- sold to Maumee Valley Bottlers, and Culligan Bottled Water.
Grand Champion Market Goat, $555 -- raised by Dylan Chamberlain -- purchased by Farmers and Merchants State Bank, and Gerald Grain Center.
Reserve Champion Goat, $400 -- raised by Natalie Harper -- sold to Napoleon Eagles Aerie 4428, and Richfield Hay & Straw.
Grand Champion Market Hog, $1,600 --raised by Lindsey Kelly -- purchased by N&R&G Recycling, Northwest Signal newspaper, and First Federal Bank.
Reserve Champion Hog, $1,255 --raised by Lauren Rohrs -- sold to N&R&G Recycling, WNDH Radion station, and Old Orchard Garden Center & Landscape of Napoleon.
Grand Champion Market Turkey, $615 -- raised by Kelsey Meyer -- purchased by Davis Farm Services.
Reserve Champion Turkey, $275 -- raised by Cody Bronson -- sold to Holgate Lumber Company, and Buckeye Building Solutions.
Grand Champion Meat Pen Rabbits, $550 -- Jessica Waisner -- purchased by Holgate Lumber Company, and Buckeye Building Solutions.
Reserve Champion Meat Pen Rabbits, $450 -- Morgan Meyer -- sold to Leader Engineering.
