We ate at Grand Country Buffet on 19 December 2010 around 6:30 PM. We did not have to wait in line at all. The restaurant itself reminded me a little of Bonanza. There is a lot of seating. The buffet is your typical country buffet. There are lots of different meats and veggies. The corn nuggets were very good along with the chicken tenders. They had a variety of different cookies and the salad bar was more than adequate.
The dinner buffet was $12.69 for one person. Because we purchased tickets to a show at the Grand Country, if we purchased one buffet we got the other buffet half off. The total price of our meal was $22.55. One buffet was $12.69 and the other buffet was $6.35. One soda was $1.65 and one water was free. The sub-total for our meal was $20.69. Tax was $1.86 for a total of $22.55. We tipped an additional $2 for a grand total of $24.55.
We received pretty good service while we were there. When we ordered I had originally asked for a Coke but I changed my mind right after that. I told the cashier two times that I did not want a soda but when repeating back to us what we had ordered she said that we had a soda. I told for a third time that I did not want a soda anymore but just water. She advised us she was kind of new at this job and was not sure if she could take it off. We eventually told her not to worry about it. The place definitely caters toward the elderly eater. The setting is what I call 1990's country. The wallpaper just gave you the feeling you were eating at a country buffet in the year 1992.
We really enjoyed our meal at Grand Country Buffet. The buffet is not world class but it is pretty good. The service was average but we would definitely eat there again.
