Grand Theft Auto Series: The Episodes of Liberty City Review

"Get 2 for the Price of 1"

Video Game creators, Rockstar, have excelled at perfecting their infamous Grand Theft Auto Series. With that being said, it's no surprise that Rockstar came out with the Episodes of Liberty City, which is a single disc of two 10 hour episodes called The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony. Both of these action packed games have tons of new features as well as what you love most: violence, guns and plenty of belligerence.

Get Lost

Rockstar has added a twist to the Grand Theft Series by releasing it's The Lost and Damned version of Liberty City. You play as Johnny Klebitz, a high power member of a motorcycle gang, and your mission will be to stay out of "beef" with other high ranking members in your gang as well as to initiate a business based truce between you and rival gangs. The Lost and Damned version of Liberty City features over twelve brand new vehicles including multiple motorcycles. Unlike Niko in The Ballad of Gay Tony, you will not only be able to handle the bikes better, you will also be able to take on a considerable amount of impact and damage before falling off. You will notice that the color quality of this game is a tad out of date; this was set like this on purpose to enhance the storyline and game playing experience. Those with the multiplayer option will go crazy over the online features. You have the choice of teaming u with others to protect witnesses or even start your own bike gang, the options are unlimited. Along with new online features, The Lost and Damned also offers new shotguns, pipe bombs as well as automatic pistols to cause mayhem with. While the gang wars in this game don't compare to those in San Andreas, you can get your fill of motorcycle gang warfare by engaging in one of the side missions.

Ballad of Gay Tony or Luiz Lopez?

The Ballad of Gay Tony is the second game part of the Episodes of Liberty City package. While The Lost and Damned lacks in air attacks and humorousness, The Ballad of Gay Tony makes up for it by pushing the envelope. The Ballad of Gay Tony focuses on the nightlife of Liberty City and all of the crookedness that it has to offer. While the game is named after Gay Tony "Prince", most of the storyline consists of drama that has to do with Luiz Lopez, his right hand man. This game, like GTA's Chinawars, has the replay mission feature which enables you to determine a different outcome of your current mission. Also like that of San Andreas and Vice City, you will be able to restart your mission from your last checkpoint. As you go through the missions you may notice familiar characters seen in other games such as Vice and Liberty City stories. While the missions seem to be similar in style to previous Grand Theft Auto games, the music selection in this game is at an all time high. There's a wide range of music to pick from with all the new radio stations.
