Grandma, Please Don't Go

nutuba
So fragile, just a shell of what you were

You barely can discern my shadow now

Your mind plays tricks --- you don't remember me

But I'm your grandson and I'll never go

Remember when I took you out to eat

And oh that weekend in the mountain air

We laughed and talked until the night was late

And I'm your grandson, I'll always be there

A dozen years ago I came to visit you

Because they said you had two weeks to live

We cried and prayed and said our last goodbyes

But God said wait, there's more smiles yet to give

Sweet Grandma, you are in full peace with Him

I know you're ready to walk through that door

But Grandma, can I hold your hand again

For I'm your grandson. Grandma, please don't go.
