Grandma's Peach Jam

There is Nothing like Good Old Fashion Peach Jam Especially the Kind that Has Been Handed Down from Generation to Generation

Kelli Stowe
Every year when the peaches were in season I would go to my grandma's back yard where she had a peach tree that produced the most delicious peaches and picked as many as we needed for making her mouth watering peach jam.

The best part about making this wonderful peach jam is that there is no canning involved and if you make enough you will be able to enjoy it for months to come.

What You Will Need

Peaches
Sugar
Cinnamon
Knife For Peeling
Large Cooking Pot
Long Handled Spoon
Cornstarch
Air Tight Containers

Peel and cut peaches in pieces, it doesn't matter the size of the pieces because as they cook they will soften, put them into a large cooking pot, add sugar and cinnamon. For about five pounds of peaches add two and a half cups sugar and two tablespoons cinnamon.

Put on low heat stirring often so it won't scorch the bottom of the cooking pot. Once the peaches are the consistency you want give them a taste, be very careful the jam will be very hot, to make sure it has enough sugar and cinnamon, if not add as desired and cook a little longer.

If the jam isn't as thick as you would like you can add a tablespoon or two of cornstarch to a half cup cold water and stir into jam.

If after adding the cornstarch and water it is to thick just gradually add water until you get the desired thickness you want. Once the jam is to your taste and thickness let cool and then pour into air tight containers and freeze but don't forget to leave a container in the refrigerator to use.

Suggestions To Use It On

Toast
Rolls
Pancakes
Waffles
French Toast
PB & J sandwiches

Enjoy!
