Grandpa Doesn't like the Internet

George Corley
Grandpa doesn't like the Internet
He refuses to buy a computer
His grandson is a huge geek
Who is always "playing his game"
Gramps wishes the boy preferred art
He wishes that he would make music

Mr Stiner likes to make music
And sell it over the Internet
It's an easy way to share the art
He makes mixing sounds on the computer
He'd like to make the soundtrack for a game
Mr Stiner is a really big geek

Miss Yong is also a big geek
She always has on electronic music
When she sits down at the desk to game
Or when she is just surfing the Internet
Or when she takes out the Wacom at her computer
And starts making art

James really likes Miss Yong's art
The fantasy themes appeal to his inner geek
He has one painting as a wallpaper on his computer
And he looks at others as he listens to music
He thinks it's the best art on the Internet
And wants her to help him design a game

Grandpa doesn't understand the boy's game
He doesn't consider it art
He wishes he would get off the Internet
And stop calling himself a geek
Grandpa gives him a violin to make music
And won't let him use the computer

But what is wrong making things on a computer?
With playing a computer game?
Those games can have good music
And they really ought to be considered an art
Whose appreciator is the geek
And whose medium may be the Internet

For the grandson knows a woman who uses the computer to make beautiful art
And a great game that was made by a geek
And when his violin teacher makes music, he likes to sell it on the Internet
