Grew in summer heat
And a garden so complete
No one could compete
Corn and potatoes
Cucumbers and tomatoes
Carrots squash and beets
Cantaloupe and Strawberries
Lots of yummy treats
Cherries and some blackberries
All this and much more
Fruits and vegetables galore
There was much to store
Grandpa wasn't greedy though
His plan was to share
Acres of garden he'd grow
Knowing he'd have spare
To take wherever he'd go
He shared his produce
Here and there and everywhere
Neighbors friends and family
Thanked him heartily
For his generosity
