As far as I can tell most Tea Party type folks are mature adults. Most are parents and a great many have grown or near grown kids. If one would bother to observe the Tea Party attendees instead of fantasizing what evil people we are, the observer would see about half or more are in the "near or at the 50 years old" category. Which begs me to ask "Are our jails filled with 50 year old parents?"
My rhetorical question has a point. Ask yourself the question. Look at the photos, or if you go to Tea Parties, look around at the people and tell me, who do you see? Mostly mothers and fathers with almost as many grandmotherly and grandfatherly aged persons like me and my lovely missus - mid 50's, always played by the rules, never been in jail for anything in our lives.
We pay our taxes as the law requires. We live by the rules. We work, spend and save. We cut our grass, trim our hedges and teach our kids the rules we were taught, raised by and live as a matter of record. We do not object to paying taxes, but we do vehemently object to HOW and on WHAT our tax dollars are spent upon. So, is that a crime worthy of deeming us "potentially criminal and violent?" Is it?
We are most assuredly against much of the Obama and progressive agenda because we were listening when Obama said "we are five days away from fundamentally transforming this nation; we are the people we have been waiting for; let this be the moment when the rise of the seas began to slow . . . ." (all paraphrased).
No Mr. Obama, WE ARE THE PEOPLE WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!
We are the people who continued the greatness the Constitution makes possible and we'll be damned if you and yours will "fundamentally transform this nation." We don't care what color you are - well, half of you anyway - we honestly don't give a rat's ass what color you are or if your hair is straight of curly. Even you funny names don't bother us.
Lemme pose a question. If this is a block of "racists, bigots and haters" as progressives and their associates have so labeled us, how did Obama win the election? If we are this powerful amalgam of racists, where were we when the election of 2008 came around? It seems unlikely based on facts, those pesky little details that belie talking points, that Obama could win a national election and then in less than six months could be so disliked and protested against if we were just racists from the get go. In fact it is not factually possible. It makes no sense - the two things are mutually exclusive.
If it's racial and bigoted how did the Black guy win in the first place? If the Tea Party crowd are so violent why did we allow Obama to win? If violence were our real methods and intentions we would have used them long ago, yet still no violence from us. Plenty of accusations from the progressives as well as a smattering of violence from them, but so far no one connected with Tea Parties has committed any related crimes. If they had the media - CNN, CBS, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, NPR, etc., would have made sure we knew about it, yet the silence is deafening. No, it is something else that drives us, and progressives know it too!
We are dead set against the progressive agenda.
Lemme pose another question to consider. Are our jails filled with middle aged White folks? I specify whites because the anti-Tea Party crowd maintains it's only white bigots, so I am just playing by their rules. Of course the Tea Parties are represented by all races, but just to play by the progressive rules, let's say Tea Parties are exclusive territory. So, how many 50 year old white women are committing crimes outside of their evil hateful political racism? Anyone? How many 50'ish white men are being locked up for their lives of crime? Hello?
Yet when these folks show up to protest the progressive agenda we are claimed to be bigoted haters bent on violence. Especially odd to in that no one gets arrested at Tea Party events - like I said, media would have had a field day if they could have.
Granny is getting pissed for sure. It's that classic, "lie about me if ya want, but lie about someone I love, and there's a problem." And no, that's not a threat but merely fact. A female bear without young is no more dangerous than any other bear, but let her have things she loves and is sworn to protect, and then let the interloper get too close to the things she loves - call me and tell me how that works out for ya.
Granny is the sweetest and kindest lady around, but piss her off and threaten her young and there will be Hell to pay. And dear readers, Granny is pissed.
When politics goes as usual, for Granny it's all no big deal. But what happens when others accuse her kids of all sorts of things that are untrue? What happens when Granny is affronted and told she's a racist and bigot? And worse, when she's told her kids are all those things too? Especially when Granny and everyone who knows her knows the accusations are without merit or one iota of truth? Granny grabs her pitchfork.
Do those so desirous of change understand the affront to Granny? Either they do not, or since they do not respect her, they just don't care. Lemme hook 'em up here.
When those who desire change come out with their words, they are calling Granny and all her ancestors liars. If a generation is 25 years, there have been nine previous generations of Americans with at least one generation of pre-Americans who wanted the same thing the following nine generations wanted and believed. In that context what do the progressive words really mean?
They mean that everything Granny taught her kids was wrong. It means Granny's parent's were wrong. It indicates Granny's grandparents were wrong too. In fact to listen to progressives tell it the whole American system is wrong. So how does Granny like that when she's told she's wrong and all of her ancestors were too? Granny gets her damned pitchfork!
Now Granny is angered and alert. She is not so concerned for herself as she's lived a lot and had a largely good life, but most Grannies will go jihad on anyone trying to harm her youngins. This is the fundamental disconnect for the "change now crowd." They fail to grasp they are pissing Granny off. And to top it off they accuse Granny of being politically violent, and the left does this all for the sake of political rhetoric.
Our nation has reached a turning point. When Granny is up in arms there is real trouble brewing. When it's just the wonks and pundits it's politics as usual, but when people who have traditionally only voted as their expression of political will and they get so alarmed to protest in the streets, a new day is dawning.
To so characterize Granny as racist, bigot, homophobe is dangerous indeed. Any false indictment of Granny is also one against her loved ones and her whole way of life. The old broad will not accept that with quiet grace.
And as I am finishing this article the news shows a story about some "anti-Tea Party" young folks who crashed a party some kid had and they ransacked the house, kicked holes in the walls and "urinated on all the clothes" and I think furniture as well. And it's Granny that is violent? And btw, the party crashers - them brilliant young folks who love the Obama deal - they posted their intentions on some social networking sites, so once again the anti-Tea Party crowd shows they have the intelligence of a turd, and that's really unkind to all the noble turds of the world.
Keep this up. Granny's pissed and now we will see just what Granny is capable of.

Post a CommentMy six-year-old granddaughter shouts...that's no evil-monger, that's my Mimi! I no longer battle my stance or try to justify my patriotism with those who walk a different path...I use that energy for the important things in life. Mark Twain said it all..."In the beginning of a change, the patriot is a scarce man, brave, hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot." Check please...I'll continue to pay (as I have my entire life) whatever it costs to keep my pitchfork proudly raised! :)
You're exactly right, Whip. Tea Party members are ordinary, everyday Americans. After all, that's who the Liberals have always hated.
It's the Alinsky-way. Attacking the TEA party members and slander them is the goal to make them out to be 'right-wing extremist.' As for Julia, Bill Clinton shot someone in the face as well. Not to mention Amy Bishop, the SEIU thugs who beat down a black conservative, the liberal moonbat that bit off a man's finger and just recently the liberal lunatic that was arrested for his threats to kill Eric Cantor.
Progressive liberals hate Tea Party members. They don't care who they are.
You are so right, Jimbo! These "Tea Parties" are made up mostly of older people who worked hard and planned for their futures feel like they're on the verge of losing everything they've ever worked for because someone didn't. No, Jimbo! They will always cut us out to be ignorant and bigoted, but such are the consequences since we speak our minds, and aren't afraid to tell the Truth!
This Tea Party was in Orlando last year, by the way.
Julia... name one incident in which a Tea Partier actually used or threatened an Obama supporter with a weapon. Just this afternoon, I heard a report of Harry Reid supporters ambushing and egging a Tea Party Express bus after they deliberately mis-guided (with a sign) the bus to park in the wrong space, 5 miles from the event. By the way, I'm also calling you out on your remark that Tea Partiers typically hold offensive signs. Name them. I'll even provide photos of the event... http://www.associatedcontent.com/slideshow/14239/the_orlando_tea_party_03212009.html?cat=9
Cheney isn't young and he managed to shoot his friend in the face. The Tea Parties have weapons and they have rage.
On the money Nance!
I just hope we all have memories longer than the politicians think we do.
