Granny Grace: Fisherwoman

Butterfly
Granny in her hipwaders

Standing in the stream

Such chilly water

It would make you scream

But to catch a fish

She would rather tough it out

Everyone would wish

They could catch a trophy trout

Granny could accomplish this

Quite without a doubt

She would rarely ever miss

When she cast it out

Steelhead and German Brown

Pretty Rainbow Trout

People in the nearest town

Heard us cheer and shout

Our Granny deserves the crown

Look what she pulled out

A gigantic German Brown

That's a trophy trout

I agree with all the comments--a precious tribute to a wonderful granny. Mine were nice but pretty traditional.

The poem flows brilliantly with almost perfectly natural rhymes. A poetic accomplishment.

I see u have been inspired by the Muse these past few days. Brava!
