"Granny's Gift"

The idea for "Granny's Gift," a traditional Christian fiction, came to me, as I was in the middle of writing my story of an abusive past, and how God brought healing through a painful journey.

The ideas and chapters seemed to flow, after the initial idea. In life we face many decisions. The decisions we make can change our lives forever. Some are afraid to make life changing decisions, and in so doing have made a decision, to make no decision. Some make decisions, hastily and then regret the decision they have made. Still others make a thoughtful and prayerful decision, and are then blessed by the results of such a decision.

In "Granny's Gift," Leslie made a thoughtful and prayerful decision to care for her Granny that had cared for her. She wanted to give back just a little of what Granny had given to her. In return, she received so much more than she gave. You see, although Leslie was a good person, living a good life, she was away from God. Through caring for Granny, she realized what was missing in her seemingly successful life. She was empty, and saw the relationship that Granny had with Jesus.

And of course, every fiction needs a romance. It turns out that the love she had longed for in a relationship was right there, all along. When the situation and time was right, the relationship flourished.

As I share my testimony of how God brought about the story, I realize that there are truths in the book, that I really didn't realize, as I wrote.

In feedback from the book, it is amazing how different people are touched in different ways, and God is glorified, one life at a time.
