A penny here, a penny there,
Da's razors and his screws.
A little barrette from Sharons hair,
A horn to fit your shoe.
A bulb from an old Christmas tree,
It may not even light,
Screws to fit most everything
And drivers to make them tight.
Spoons and forks & washers too,
And pens to write your friends,
Tinker toys for girls and boys,
Grannys junk just never ends!
Then in a fit of inspiration...
without any hesitation,
Granny dumped the drawer
after years of accumulation.
She sorted and prodded through
picking keys up one by one,
meditating on what to do
"Oh theres a little toy gun!"
Granny pictured them spray painted in gold
Glued in a frame in the hall
50 years later it looks just the same
as when she hung it on the wall.
The funniest thing about it,
A story you cant tell enough...
is when Da walked in and scaratched his chin
and said "Momma, thats my stuff !!"
