Grant Are Serious Business Essential Electric Technique

The Blueberry and Chat Communications of Today Make a Wonderful Set of Tools Available to You

Instant Messaging has arrived, as we enter the age of Blueberry and cellular communication, the old-fashioned e-mail may find itself on the back burner. The back burner, we believe you will agree, is not where you want to be. Recently a student of that art received twenty five thousand dollars for being the fastest text messager in the land. If this doesn't light up your "out-a-da-box" alarm, you need to reset that pup.

The probability factor in your use of technology simply means that if you are using it now, you will probably keep on using it, if you are not, you may be encouraged to acquire it, but it will involve a learning curve. The beauty of grant getting is that the learning curve is relatively meaningless, in that, grants aren't normally a month-to-month process; you are looking at a longer period between submission and approval, if you are dealing with the government. If you are dealing with private institutions or individuals then the funding is quicker, but the process from your end will look much the same.

Text messaging allows a quick and versatile way to stay in touch with someone, but some simple rules might make the process better for you. Actually, we don't want to think of these as rules, in the legal sense, more think of them as guides, or lines, that set up behavior for you.

First, it is sensible to believe that you have no clue as to the life of the person you are texting at that moment. Because text messages are quick, they are also intrusive, a cell call is also intrusive, e-mail is intrusive but in an asynchronous way, meaning the time to respond may be slower than a text response. What we do about this has a lot to do with what we want to accomplish. If what we are after is a response of some length, then we might text an inquiry as to the best time to chat and our chat address.

You may have had the partial message, or acronym, message that you didn't understand happen to you. If so, then you realize what takes place in such an instance isn't desirable when you are discussing the transfer of funds. Fund appropriations people are used to speaking in concrete terms, when a publicist or person who is primarily involved in communications, interacts with them, it can be a meld of two cultures and it is tricky. Why trust such a tenuous relationship to something as obscure as an acronym?

Using text messaging and chat as the vehicle to communicate with the person who is in the approval process can go a long ways toward helping communicate to them that you are in earnest about knowing the status of the grant. This is a delicate line, you must gauge for yourself whether the person you are dealing with has the ability to act on these kinds of short notice communications. Some people do, some people don't, just because you do or don't, does not mean that they do or will. Bear in mind, our cardinal rule is always to presume nothing. That's not easy to do.

I may have to re-think my non-use of the whole chat thing. ;-)
