A Puzzle Platformer

Gravit-Eye is a flash animation puzzle game designed by Newgrounds.com user ryanclewis. This puzzle platformer was submitted to Newgrounds.com on January 3, 2010 and won a Daily 3rd Place award on January 4, 2010.

Gameplay

The objective of Gravit-Eye is to reach the bull's eye in every stage. Move around and jump around to touch the target in order to move on to the next stage. The more potent jumps come after moving, so if you want to jump further or higher, start moving before you make the jump.

To reach the target in each level, there are a few different objects in the game that you may have to utilize. Some platforms have springs installed in them. Jumping on a spring allows you to jump even higher. There are also arrows in the game that can redirect the direction of gravity. To activate these buttons, simply touch them.

The arrows around the edge of the screen indicate the direction gravity is pulling your eyeball-looking object.

Falling through the sides of the game screen will restart the level. You have an unlimited number of lives. Also, you are not timed on how quickly you complete each stage. Furthermore, there are no points to worry about, so play at your own leisure.

At the top-left side of the screen, there are a few letters that correspond to different in-game commands. Clicking Q will let you quit the game and return to the stage selection screen. R restarts the game. O toggles music and game quality options. Clicking W will allow you to click a link to a video that will present a walkthrough for the game.

There are a total of 40 different levels for you to complete.

Game Controls

Use arrow keys or WASD to move the eyeball-looking object around.
Press X or J to jump.
Press Spacebar to restart the level you are currently on.

Review

Gravit-Eye is a relaxing puzzle platformer that will keep gamers playing for a long while. The soothing music helps to keep frustration levels down. Also, the absence of a timer or scoreboard really reduces the pressure to complete the game. Even so, players will still want to continue, as the levels become increasingly more difficult. The levels are diverse enough to not make the game repetitive, and there are just enough levels to satisfy most gamers. Also, giving each stage a different title adds a nice, creative touch to the game.

Gravit-Eye scores an 8/10 for providing an interesting, soothing experience.
