The first coat I found is available at L. L. Bean from The Weather Channel Series. This particular jacket if called The Storm Chaser 3-in-1 Jacket. It is interesting the way this line of outerwear came into existence at L. L. Bean. The meteorologists that work for "The Weather Channel" on television had been using L. L. Bean coats for their outerwear and the two companies came together to start a new line. The meteorologists certainly know about changing weather and this jacket can change as the weather does. The outer nylon shell can be worn alone on cool rainy days because it has a water-resistant coating. The soft midweight polyester fleece liner can be worn alone on dry days. For the worst weather, wear the pieces together to make a substantially warmer coat. The outer shell has a hood that can be hidden and two zippered pockets. The fleece liner also has two pockets. The colors available for this coat are Deep Loden (dark olive green), Bright Mariner (blue), Carbon (deep gray), and Deep Red. It comes in regular and tall sizes, in small through an extra, extra large. The prices are $89.00 for regular and $99.00 for tall.
I went shopping next at Lands' End and found another great 3-in-1 coat called The Jacket. This coat has a colorful nylon windbreaker that is also water resistant. This outer nylon shell has a two-way zipper and a hook and loops closure. It has an inner pocket made for a cell phone and two hidden front pockets that zip. This outer jacket also has a hide away hood with a drawstring cord and adjustable cuffs. The warm inner fleece layer can also be used as a jacket alone and is 100% polyester with a mock-style neck. Both the outer shell and the inner fleece jackets can be zipped together to make this coat winter ready. This coat comes in five colors: two-tone gold with silver and gray, black with two-tone gray, two-tone khaki with deep forest green, imperial blue with a deep navy, classic red with racing red, and cypress green with black. The price for this coat is $89.50 for regular sizes medium through an extra, extra large and big sizes also in medium through an extra, extra large.
The next place I found a great price on a jacket is J. C. Penney. Their version of a changeable coat is called a Splitrail 4-in-1 Jacket. The reason behind the coat being described as a 4-in-1 is the fact that the interior lining is also reversible, giving this jacket even more versatility. The outer shell has a water-resistant polyurethane coating with a glove holder on the sleeve, CD player pocket, headset security holder and cell phone pocket with a secure closure. The reversible inner jacket also has multiple pockets. This coat comes in small through extra, extra large in regular, tall and big tall sizes. The colors available are black, cobalt, crimson and green. The prices range from $79.00 to $99.99.
