The Yard House

So you like tap beers, huh? Well then, you need to visit the Yard House in San Diego, California. 250 beers on tap are available for consumption at all times, and drinking them from yard-tall beer glasses will leave beer lovers in delight. Be sure to eat while you're there, too, as the Yard House has everything from the traditional cheeseburger to more refined dishes. If you don't like beer, its OK, as they of course offer wines and mixed drinks, too. happy hour abounds with a large crowd every day. Trattoria La Strada

The corner of 5th Avenue and G Street are said to be the hippest place to be seen in the Gaslamp. The atmosphere is decidingly Italian, and the kitchen is open so you can watch the preparation of your food. La Strada is among the top ten Italian restaurants if the United States, a huge honor not easily attained. But with their selection of delicious Italian wines, wonderfully prepared food, and cheerful staff, you'll find out just why they made the cut. Booked daily, La Strada is the place you want to be so you can have something to tell your friends!

Fresh(er)

Once known as La Jolla's Fresh, this restaurant was taken over and transformed into something even better back in 2006. Meals are made totally from scratch, and the dishes are seasonally-inspired with both local and organic ingredients blended in. The bar is fully loaded, with beer, spirits, wine, and just about any specialty drink you could think of. Happy hours occur daily, with a large group gathering to partake in the drinking. Come December 2007, Fresh(er) will become Wisknladle, with new dishes, a new bar, and and a sure-to-be-a-hit after-hours lounge. Fresh(er) will not disappoint!
