San Luis Obispo is a college town so there is no shortage of night life. Here are a few that you just shouldn't miss as you blow through town.

Please remember not to drink and drive!

Downtown Brewing Company- formerly known as SLOBrew, 1119 Garden St. (805) 543-1843

I have four words for you. Tuesday $1 Pint Night. That should be enough to get you interested, but if not they have live bands on weekends and often during the week as well. This place really gets going with some well-known great bands like English Beat, for example. When they don't have a live band, they have a house D.J. that will really keep you moving.

There are also drink specials on other nights and pool tables downstairs so you can do your "Hustler" impressions!

Koberl's Blue- 988 Monterey (805) 783-1115

Come for the wine but stay for the food and music. Koberl's has a wine list that will knock your socks off and they have live music Thursday - Sunday. Like I said, check out the menu, this isn't your usual bar fare!

Frog & Peach- 728 Higuera St. (805)595-Frog

No list of bars would be complete without at least one warning not to use the bathroom! This is the one. With over a dozen Brews on tap, drink wisely, my friend. Happy hour serves up these brews at "canned beer" prices. They also have live music and/or D.J. every night of the week.

I think that it is supposed to be reminiscent of an English Pub and they achieve that with the dart boards and dim lighting. The place is small, but in a cozy-Cheers kind of way. It's location is great for people watching too being right on the main street through town. So grab a pint, sit at the window, and watch the world go by!

There are dozens of other pint worthy places all within walking distance of each other, so park and walk when you do your bar crawl. Word of warning: SLO PD take being drunk in public and drunk driving really seriously, so make sure to bring a designated walker/driver!

Do you realize you have a 2,000 views-per-article average? That's pretty high!

Sounds like some great places to visit. I love places that have live music as well.

Thanks for the comment on the adoption article. That one was near and dear to my heart and self-published it, no upfront pay. I hope when you get the time, you consider writing an article so I can see more of your writing but in the meantime...I just wanted to express my gratitude.
    :)

I visited this town about ten years ago. I wish I had read the article then!

Love your continued support of my articles. Maybe you could write an article on making a ceviche recipe and how it turned out ;) using the salmon you mentioned in a comment.

Thanks for the suggestion of Black Sheep as well :)

Good top three--and be sure to add SPIKE'S on Higuera!! Extensive beer collection, good burgers, and located on the fringes of the weekend college swarm.
