Great Breakfast Places in Clifton Heights, Pennsylvania

A Couple Places to Fill Your Belly and Feel Welcomed

Jennifer Bove
Sometimes breakfast is at three AM, after a fun night out like in my article: Top Three Bars in Clifton Heights, Pennsylvania. Sometimes its when you wake at nine AM during the week or weekend and its beautiful out and you just want a nice breakfast served to you. Other times it's a Sunday ritual to go out and eat after mass. In this article, I've included appropriate places for each scenario.

All three of these restaurants have been around for some time. The one, Olympic Diner is a part of Clifton Heights' history and has been around forever! I used to go there in the middle of the night with my cravings while pregnant with my first daughter. At the time it had already been around forever and it is still going strong.

Great Breakfast Places In Clifton Heights, PA: The Olympic Diner

The Olympic Diner has a great breakfast menu. They will serve you breakfast any time, day or night. It has long been a place for late night/early morning breakfast. It's a great after bar breakfast place. I always seem to end up ordering the number two-two eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast and coffee. This is only $3.50! I will be finally sampling their other breakfast meals though. They offer every kind of breakfast food you can imagine up.

The serving sizes are huge! The pancakes are the size of a large dinner plate and stacked high. You never have to worry about an empty cup of coffee because the waitress makes sure she keeps the coffee coming.

The owner is the cook and is always happy to chat it up with you. The waitresses are awesome, but you definitely need a Clifton heights attitude to get their humor. This place actually reminds me of a stereotypical diner portrayed in movies.

Great Breakfast Places In Clifton Heights, PA: The Breakfast Club

This Breakfast Corner is only that, a breakfast place. Open only until 11:00 AM, breakfast is their one and only specialty. Because of this, their breakfast is amazing. It is a fairly small restaurant and fills up pretty fast. Despite the packed dining room, service is always fast. The owners know how busy it gets and hires enough help so everyone is served fast.

Just like The Olympic Diner, the servings of their breakfast foods is quite large. You definitely will not leave without a nice full belly. The wait staff is friendly and again, local, so they usually know you personally which adds a nice touch.

This restaurant has also been around some time, but not quite as long as the diner. I used to come here when pregnant with my first daughter also, but at that time it was a lunch place. Despite the short hours of operation, I'm glad it is now a breakfast place. I really don't go out to eat too often, but when I want a nice breakfast out, particularly during the week, this is a spot I like to go. Apparently I am not alone in this thinking, as when I say a full dining room, I mean every seat taken.

Great Breakfast Places In Clifton Heights, PA: Penny's Family Restaurant

Penny's is definitely a breakfast place I associate with Sunday after mass or holiday after mass breakfast out. Every Sunday when masses are letting out, this place fills up. Penny's is a regular restaurant, not a breakfast specialty place, so it does serve other meals and has hours other than breakfast time.

Just as the Breakfast Corner does, Penny's also fills to capacity during breakfast. You may have a little longer wait to be seated, but the breakfast food is worth the wait. The prices are reasonable, but a little higher than the first two places mentioned. Penny's is still inexpensive enough to bring the whole family out to enjoy a meal and not break the bank.

Address and phone are as follows:

206 South Springfield Road
Clifton Heights, PA 19018-2227

Oh you're making me hungry now. I absolutely loved breakfasts in the USA and Canada when we visited. The idea of pancakes and maple syrup with bacon seemed such an unlikely combination but it is delicious. Great article. :)
