Great Britain Will Soon Limit Couples to Two Children - is America Far Behind?

Stop Human Procreation in Favor of Environment and Economy

This writer respectfully asks that readers who are inclined to leave inflammatory comments after seeing the words abortion or "pro-choice" please read the entire article and check out the sources first.

Great Britain's Sustainable Development Commission will be issuing a report next month encouraging - no, pressuring - British couples to limit their families to two children.

The reason? They must do it to stop global warming.

According to a UK Times Online report, Commission Chairman Jonathon Porritt states having more than two kids is irresponsible behavior. He advocates more contraception and abortion as a means of population control. According to the report, the population is ruining the environment and must be limited in order to stop global warming. The committee is willing to take funds away from researching cures for illness in order to further this population control agenda.

Let's check out this theory for a minute. If we stop producing humans and save the planet for the animals, who's going to be around to care? It's not the mere existence of humans that are ruining the environment. What we may need to pull the reigns in on is all the instant technology that's creating more electrical fields and interfering with the atmosphere and making our lives miserable because everything must be done now, now, now. Humans must come up with the science to create a cleaner environment.

For the U.S., Pelosi favors population control to save the economy -

United States' Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is not far behind. Appearing on ABC's "This Week" with host George Stephanopoulos (see actual transcript here), Pelosi attempted to explain the new administration's theory that spending more money on contraception and abortion (er, family planning) will help save America's economy.

I'm not in favor of irresponsibly having baby after baby just to collect welfare checks; but Nancy Pelosi has five children and seven grandchildren. I hope, as someone so blessed, that before we follow Great Britain's lead she will truly consider the impact of placing the burden on other well-intentioned people to limit themselves, and the cost that may come to couples who can't have any children but want to adopt.

The new economic stimulus package includes millions for family planning resources, including everything involved in passing the Freedom of Choice Act which guarantees absolutely no real Freedom of Choice. President Obama has also withdrawn the limits on using American taxpayer dollars in favor of funding abortion here and abroad.

Word has it that, under the Freedom of Choice Act, all states with Choose Life license plates will be forced to discontinue them because these license plates are non-tolerant toward those who choose abortion. OK - where's the choice? I will no longer be allowed to "choose" a Choose Life license plate? Even for people who are pro-choice, you must admit this even takes away your choice to be pro-choice; everyone will be required to be pro-choice. Not to mention the removal of freedom of conscience of people whose faith says not to use contraception, and those in the medical field who don't wish to assist in abortions.

Shades of China's government are upon the Western World. Or, at the very least, the many sci-fi movies we've seen where Americans are forbidden to have children may very well come true.

Excellently written, but isn't it strange what the government thinks it has a right to do? My wife and I are older, but if they should tell me that I couldn't have any more kids I would be sorely tempted to have an affair to prove that I could. I have never even thought about going out on my wife before and don't intend to start now, but there are some things that are none of their business. Johnny Yuma

The choice of how many children should have is purely up to that person. If the government should decide how many children a person can have, soon they will be determine when a couple is to have sex, where they can have sex and for how long. It seems to me that the government is slowly but surely trying to take back over every aspect of our lives just as Great Britain did when were first trying to establish this country. Think about it.

It is all a grand scheme, my friend. The globalists have pushed all the buttons for many years now and we are seeing the overt fruition of their work. The economy, the subsiding of freedoms and even control of the population. What is really sad and frightening is that, like Michael below, people are actually accepting these globalist views as their own. Such mindless drones we have (mostly) all become.

Most of the western world seems to be experiencing population decreases.

Babies are bad for the environment and for the economy? Hmmm...time for some Soylent Green?

Nice Article Sheryl and thought provoking...wont happen in the UK though...Porrit is a dinosaur of the green movement in the UK he has little influence or credibility. Of course Porrits argument assumes man mad global warming which i would seriously argue against...politicians want to prove man made warming to justify all those green taxes they want to levy...manipulation of population by the methods advocated in China is tantamount to facism...whatever way you look at it it is preventing life..something we have no right to do..

From what I recall from a book I read on demographics, the U.S. and Europe are already on a population decline where we're not having enough kids (right now) to keep population levels where they are (though immigration is expected to keep the U.S. population increasing for a while).

With the PC that's coming down the pike I would be surprised by little that happens anymore. We don't seem to live in the same nation I was born into. What a shame to see my nation sink beneath the waves.
