Celebrity "designed" bags are somewhat of a misnomer. Most often, celebs lend their name to a brand, but let's face it, most of them aren't sketching designs and creating prototypes. But, many celebs are certainly fashionable--after all, they get the best of everything from top designers, stylists so they should at least be able to recognize quality and what goes into a great handbag.

Celebrity "designed" handbags are high on trendiness and style, but often lacking in quality. They are somewhat affordable, appealing to a younger crowd with smaller budgets who want to look like their favorite pop star or actress, but often are made of synthetic material (PVC, etc.)

Regardless if the handbags are actually "designed" by the celebs, are the bags any good? Here are eight of some of the best celebrity "designed" handbags perfect for summer.

Gwen Stefani

Gwen Stefani's L.A.M.B. handbag line is by far the most attractive (and expensive) celebrity line. Classy, stylish with clean lines and lovely details. I do find it a bit disappointing however that some of the bags are made of synthetic materials- generally not acceptable to me as a material for such high-priced bags, but the bags are gorgeous. The L.A.M.B. line is sold at Saks, Nordstrom,Bloomingdale's. ($250-$800)
