Lunch is not only a daily routine for most everyone, but it is also a social opportunity. For teenagers in high school out for a brief escape and for adults taking a break from a schedule packed full of meetings, the lunch hour is the best time-out from our obligations. Here are some cheap but delicious options in Boise for you to choose from.

Blue Sky Bagels - Located at 407 W. Main St., "The Treasure Valley's Premiere Bagel Shop" has a whole menu to offer, with all items running under $5. Order from 15 different bagels and 5 kinds of cream cheese (which comes on your bagel free of charge), there are a variety of combinations to create. Bagels with cream cheese will run you less than $1.50. Choose to substitute the classic cream cheese with a selection of 10 meats for a bagel sandwich that is a great lunch fix and will cost you less than $5.00.

Cobby's Sandwich Shop - Founded in 1978, Cobby's Sandwich Shop has three locations in Boise. 1030 Broadway Ave., 4348 Chinden Blvd. Garden City, and 6899 Overland Rd. Cobby's sandwiches will run you from under $6.00 for a 4 inch to $14.00 for a 16 inch, but don't forget to check for their daily specials which come at a discount. You can even call ahead to ask what their daily special is to see if it's worth the trip out. Cobby's can also deliver your lunch for free for those times you find yourself in a tight spot and unable to leave the office. Just call and place your order before 10 a.m.

Guidos Pizzeria - Claiming to have original New York style pizza, Guidos has two locations. 235 North 5th Street and 12375 Chinden Blvd., Suite G in Garden City. Obviously Boise Idaho is one of the furthest places in the United States from New York City, but Guidos has the pizza and atmosphere to match any classic New York pizzeria. Classic pictures of the Rockefeller building and current baseball standings decorate the small room, and you can walk away with any slice you like for under $2.50. You can also order a whole pizza for under $13.00, but allow a half hour to an hour before it'll be ready.

Pizza Pipeline - Probably the option that will have your food done in the fastest time, Pizza Pipeline is located at 1401 Broadway Ave. With slices running at $1.00 and drinks costing a mere $0.50, you can combine as you like with the most common lunch order being two slices and a drink for $2.50.
