Great Chicago Quotes

Sophia S. Mark
As far as cities go Chicago is one of the best. Like everything great though, there are problems that come along with the good, and Chicago has its fair share of both.

Chicago sits smack in the middle of the nation which gives it a character all of its own, it really is like no other place in the world. Chicagoans, like their city, are a breed of their own. Honestly though, we like it that way.

Here are some of the best quotes about the good, bad, and the just plain scary sides of my city, Chicago.

Chicago will give you a chance. The sporting spirit is the spirit of Chicago.
Lincoln Steffens

Eventually, I think Chicago will be the most beautiful great city left in the world.

Love those quotes, gotta do more than just fly through on United sometime. Lots of escapees here in Denver, one guy said "after the sixth time I got shot, I decided to move." They have Chicago style hotdogs here, boy is it a salad in a bun!

I have passed through Chicago, and hope to spend time there some day. Enjoyed the quotes.

I drove through Chicago during rush hour, took a wrong exit, and drove through very narrow city streets in a dually truck. At first I was freaked out, but then I started to take in the views a bit. It is a cool city, but man is it huge!

Ah, this brought back memories. BUT - you missed my favorite from the song "Lincoln Park Pirates" by Steve Goodman: The streetlamps are on in Chicago tonight,
And lovers a'gazin' at stars; The stores are all closin', and Daley is dozin', And the fat man is counting the cars...And there's more cars than places to put 'em, he says, But I've got room for them all; So 'round 'em up boys, 'cause I want some more toys, In the lot by the grocery store... (((My first car, a Ford Fairlane with Push Button transmission was towed by these guys - and I never saw it again!))) Thanks again, for the memories - great article!

Interesting article. Not much can be said of Rockville, MD where I live.

"Chicago is not the most corrupt American city. It's the most theatrically corrupt." Haha, I love this for some reason.
