Great Chinese Food at a Bargain Price in Bend, Oregon at China Doll

In Bend there are at least 7 different Chinese food restaurants. At China Doll you get the best value for your dollar. Their food is delicious, and you'll want to come back again and again. Order take-out, or eat in the quaint sidewalk location with remodel and expansion in process. There are comfortable chairs and tables inside in a clean, casual, relaxed atmosphere. There are tables with umbrellas outside, where you can enjoy the edge of town views of Central Oregon, and wonderful Bend sunshine.

Lunch runs $4.75 a meal and is served until 4 pm. After 4 pm is dinner for $6.50 and includes your choice of soup or salad. The meal consists of your choice of fried rice or the pan-fried noodles (the best around), and your choice of two main dishes, all picked from the hot display case. The orange chicken is my family favorite, a little spice, a little sweet. They regularly have sweet and sour pork and chicken (sauce on the side or top), teriyaki chicken, mandarin chicken (spicy!), colonel's chicken (spicy!), shrimp, beef and broccoli, Hawaiian chicken, sesame chicken, cashew chicken and assorted others. If you aren't sure what to get, ask for a suggestion, the owners and employees are very friendly and will gladly offer a sample.

China Doll regularly offers a wide variety of chicken dishes that are made from good quality chicken breast, not dark, greasy grizzly meat pieces like so many other restaurants do, making it a healthy option for dinner. Egg rolls and other items are available upon request, and you can always call ahead to pick up for convenience.

Be sure to come hungry, as meal portions are very large. You can share with a friend or keep the leftovers for the next day, they reheat just fine. There is a soda machine available for eating in, or you can get very reasonably priced drinks to go. Don't forget your fortune cookies! After all what is Chinese food without the fortune?

China Doll can be found on the corner of Highway 20 and 27^th street in Bend. If you are headed west on Highway 20 you can't miss it on the right side of the street as you enter the city of Bend. From Highway 97 north of south, turn onto highway 20 and follow east to the end of town. China Doll is located on the north side of the street just before you leave Bend.
