Finally, there are certainly times when people can buy gifts for colleagues that are unique to that person. This can include personal interests, hobbies, and items that are specifically requested by the individual. Again, people can get a personal gift for an individual but they should make sure that it is not too "personal", as this can be viewed as unprofessional.
