Great Christmas Gifts for Hilary Duff Fans

Hilary is Growing Up, but You and Your Kids Can Still Enjoy Her Disney Movie Years

Lissa Bagley
We are all watching Hilary Duff grow up and out of her Lizzie McGuire days. We all knew that at some time she would graduate from Disney and embrace her adulthood. Her music has more adult lyrics than before and her new movie roles are very different from the clumsy middle school Lizzie, and high school Cinderella sweetheart. However, this does not mean that you have to buy your Hilary Duff fan anything that you would deem "too adult" for them. There are many movies you can give as holiday gifts featuring our favorite blonde from the Disney channel.

The Lizzie McGuire Movie: Most of us first met Hilary Duff in her role as Lizzie McGuire on the Disney channel. In Lizzie's first full length film we watch as she graduates from middle school and heads overseas for a class trip to Rome. Lizzie falls for a popular singer who is only using her to get back at his former singing partner. All the while her parents are worried and her little brother is scheming. This film has mild thematic elements and is rated PG.

Cinderella Story: Sam is a young girl in high school who lost her father at an early age. Her step-mother adopts her and treats her like a slave ala Cinderella. She meets her "prince charming" through the internet and is not sure if she should tell him who she is. She hopes to get into Princeton to escape her step-mother and two evil stepsisters. This movie contains mild language and mild sexual innuendo and is rated PG.

Raise your Voice: After the devastating death of her older brother, a small town girl enrolls in a summer music program in LA with the help of her mom and aunt against her father's wishes and behind his back. This movie contains thematic elements and mild language and is rated PG. One word of warning to adults: this movie does contain the death of a young man and is very sad. If your kids are sensitive to this subject, this may not be the movie for them.

Material Girls: After the death of their father, two young heiresses (Hilary and Halie Duff) inherit the family cosmetic company. Betrayed by a trusted friend of the family, they are removed from their glamorous lifestyle and forced to get jobs. This film contains mild language and rude humor and is rated PG.

Agent Cody Banks: Frankie Muniz is a CIA agent, yet not even old enough to vote. His assignment is to spy on Dr. Conner and his invention to stop leaks on oil tankers. In order to do this, Cody must date Dr. Conner's daughter Natalie, played by Hilary Duff. This movie contains some action violence, mild language and some sensual content and is rated PG.

All five of these great movies feature Hilary as our young ones know her best. They are all great for a family movie night or to watch alone over and over again. So when you turn to the shelves to shop for you little Hilary Duff fan, be sure to look at these movies. They can be found at most movie stores, online, and even in Super Centers such as Wal-Mart or Target. Happy Holidays to you and your Hilary fan!
