Christmas Party Ideas that Are Fun for Everyone

1. Christmas Party Idea: A Gingerbread House Party
Everybody loves to build things, be it an adult or child. A gingerbread house party gives everyone a chance to be creative and have something to share when their done. To start, provide each group participating with a pre-made gingerbread house kit or graham crackers and icing. You can use a small milk carton as a sturdy base if you decide on graham crackers. When inviting your guests to the party, ask each of them to bring something to share for decorating the gingerbread houses. Holiday M&M's, gumdrops, licorice, shredded coconut, mini marshmallows, and chocolate chips are great items for decorating.

When everyone has completed their gingerbread house, present awards for different categories such as, the house with the least gingerbread showing, the tallest house, or the one that is most festive. While giving out the awards serve hot coco and enjoy the remaining holiday treats.

2. Christmas Party Idea: A Cookie Decorating Party
Before friends and family arrive, drop by your local grocery store and pick up some pre-cut sugar cookie dough. After baking them, these cookies will be ready for your guests to decorate. Set up a table with containers of frosting, sprinkles, and various decorating candies. Label a plate with each child's name so that when the child is done decorating they can take their creations home. When their done decorating, pull out one last undecorated cookie for each child and that will be the one they garnish and enjoy with their hot coco to end the party.

3. Christmas Party Idea: An Adult Holiday Party Idea
A great Christmas party idea for the adults is to serve creative holiday cocktails. Some of my favorites are Vanilla Icicles (Vanilla Vodka and Ginger Ale), Grinches (Vodka and Grapefruit Juice), Jack Frosts (Jack Daniels and Coke), and Sugar Plum Fairies (Black Cherry Vodka and Coke). Consider some live music, a caricature artist, a fortune teller or maybe a game of black jack (with play money) to entertain your guests. To get your Christmas holiday company more in the mood, have them check out their closets and have a bad holiday sweater contest as well. Award prizes to the most outrageous sweaters.

They are fun to do and since you only do it once a year, you don't mind the mess.

Yesterday I was at my daughter's and she pulled out one of these gingerbread kits and started putting it together. I had never seen one before but thought it was a great idea!
