Great Christmas Stocking Stuffers for Boys

Everything Santa Should Leave in the Stocking for Boys of All Ages

Melanie L. Marten
Christmas is coming, and every young boy will be hanging up his fuzzy red stocking, eagerly awaiting the visit of Santa Claus. What will he find in the stocking on Christmas morning when he arrives wide-eyed in the living room?

Of course, the job of stuffing the stockings actually falls to the young boy's parents, and the task can be harder than it looks! A Christmas stocking is small and oddly shaped. To please the stocking owner, it should be well stuffed on Christmas morning.

Ages One to Three

1. Stuffed Toys

Babies will love to get a new plush toy, teddy bear, or squishy truck or rattle. Older toddler boys love toys too!

2. Small Books

There are soft stitched books about ABCs, numbers, colors, shapes, and more that are perfect for toddler boy's stockings. There are also many small sized board books with the same topics that could fit into a Christmas stocking.

3. Blocks or Building Toys

A small pack of wooden or plastic blocks could fit into most Christmas stockings. Large size building blocks are another great thing to include. These are especially great if the boy already has some of his own.

Ages Four to Seven

1. Cars and trucks

Matchbox and hotwheels cars, trucks, and other vehicles are a favorite of boys in this age range. And, these cars are the perfect size to stuff in a Christmas stocking.

2. Small books and fun pads

Comic books, paperback children's books, coloring books, and fun and activity pads are great stocking stuffers for boys of this age. The soft-sided books can roll up and slide into the Christmas stocking easily.

3. Stickers

Stickers come in many great styles and designs: everything from race cars to bugs to alphabet letters to cartoon characters. Boys will love to find stickers of their favorite things in their Christmas stocking.

4. Candy

At this age, boys can eat any type of Christmas candy you can fit into their stocking. Candy canes are a necessary addition to any Christmas stocking. Chocolate bells, santas and holiday treats are great to fill in the spaces left after the other stocking stuffers are put in.

Ages Eight to Twelve

1. Small Toys

Small cars, transforming robot figures, action figures, and more are great things to stuff into a Christmas stocking. Whatever the boy is interested in, there is probably a miniature version of it.

2. Trading Cards

Collectible trading card games such as Magic, the Gathering, Pokemon, and Yu-Gi-Oh are still popular things for boys in this age range. Other boys might like baseball, football, or basketball cards. Boys who are into science or history can be given fact cards that can be found at educational stores.

3. Handheld Games

There are hundreds of different small hand-held electronic games that could fit easily into a Christmas stocking. Anything from kickboxing, competitions to Sudoku are available at reasonable prices.

4. Books, candy, and more.

All the items mentioned for the younger crowd are still appreciated at these ages. Comic books are a favorite Christmas stocking stuffer, as are candy canes and chocolate.

Teenagers and Older

1. CDs, DVDs, and Video games

Older boys will love to get a favorite CD album of DVD movie in their Christmas stocking. Video games can also be slid into the stocking carefully.

2. Gift Cards

Even Santa Claus may not be in tune with what a teenage boy might like. To be on the safe side, a gift card is always a great choice, and it fits easily into any size Christmas stocking.

3. Clothing or Accessories

Obviously, this would have to be a small item, and you should be careful to choose something in a style that the boy would appreciate. A cool t-shirt can be rolled up into a small cylinder and shoved in a Christmas stocking. Slippers or a watch would fit easily.

Opening the Christmas stocking after the yearly visit of Santa Claus is one that many boys look forward to year after year. For the real gift givers, the parents, it can be a challenge to fill the stocking with small gifts that will be appreciated. There are many options, however, of great Christmas stocking stuffers for boys.
