Great Date Spots in Lancaster, PA

Leigh S.
So you worked up the nerve to ask her out, but you're lacking a plan. Where should you go? What will you do to impress her? Whether you prefer romantic, traditional or active, the great thing about Lancaster is that there are many diverse options for a first date. Below are a few great options for your first time together.

El Serrano

One of the best Latin-American restaurants around, El Serrano (or upstairs at Culturas) offers a great setting for a first date. El Serrano blends the perfect mix of atmosphere, and the "not trying too hard" vibe. Because this is a popular restaurant, you'll want to reserve one of the recessed porticos for a more private setting. Make sure to plan your date in advance so you can go for live music and/or dancing. If you're not shy, venture upstairs to Culturas to share Tapas (small plates of food) with your date. El Serrano also offers a great bar for late night dates. Your date will be such hit, so what happens afterwards is up to you! El Serrano is located on Columbia Avenue in Lancaster. Check out www.elserrano.com for more information.

Nissly Vineyards

Each summer, Nissly puts on "Music in the Vineyards." From July 4rd through Labor Day, Nissly hosts outdoor lawn concerts each Saturday evening. Bands range from big band style, to light-rock and oldies. Plan on bringing snacks or a picnic, and grab a bottle of wine when there to share with your date. Make sure to pack a blanket and get ready to dance under the stars! For an extra buck fifty, you can have Nissly personalize a wine bottle with a special message. Surprise her on date one, or send it to her office to ask her out for a second date! Minors are not permitted, so this is limited to those 21 and above. Nissly is located in Bainbridge, and concerts cost an average of $15/person. For more information, visit: www.nissleywine.com.

Tucquan Glen

If you're more of the outdoors type, Lancaster offers a few great hiking spots. The great thing about doing something active is that there won't be any awkward silences. Tucquan Glen is a popular hike. Located on the southern end of Lancaster County, it will feel like you are far away from the daily grind. This hike runs along a small stream full of swimming holes, and lets out at the Susquehanna so make sure to wear your bathing suit and bring a tube. The best thing is that this date is free! For directions and more information go to: http://www.localhikes.com/Hikes/TucquanGlen_4000.asp .

Hitting up any of these spots will be a great time and will help you land date number two, and possibly lead your next relationship!
