Great Events to Go to at San Diego's Beautiful Balboa Park

Balboa Park is San Diego's Historical Park that has been there since the early 1900. Balboa Park attracts hundreds of tourists every year. From its beautiful buildings to its beautiful landscape there is a lot that Balboa Park has to offer. During the different seasons of the year Balboa Park has many different seasonal events that it offers to San Diegans and tourists. Here are just a few events to know about that happen almost every year.

Summer Time

During the summer time there are a lot of free events to look forward too.

Screen on the Green

One of my favorite events is the Screen on the Green. This event is sponsors by the San Diego Art Museum. The Art museum sponsors a answer summer movie picnic festival that usually start towards the end of July and goes through the end of August. Each summer between July and August there is a big Screen that is placed behind the art museum near the pond.

Every Thursday friends and families can bring chairs, blankets, and picnic supplies and watch a free movie on the screen. There is usually a theme of the movies every year and it is definitely something to look forward to especially when you are in a beautiful park.

Free Music Concerts At the Organ Pavilion

During summer time there are many night time free concerts to go to at the Organ Pavilion. If you music especially when its free this is a perfect place to go to listen to music with love ones.

Winter in the Prado

Winter on the Prado, formally known as Christmas on the Prado is every December. It's basically a winter festival that happens on a weekend in December at night. During this festival there are lights, all kinds of vendors, really good food, music, and all the museums are open late at night and for FREE! This is an event that will definitely make your winter holidays special.

Earth Day Festival

Every year around earth day Balboa Park has a big Earth Festival. It's a time to celebrate the environment we live in and have some fun. There are different venders, music, and a lot of knowledge to be shared.
