For a natural daytime look, stick with a nice brown eyeliner. You can line both the lower and the upper lid. Use a nice warm brown or even a peach for darker skin tones and pale pinks for the lighter skin tones. You can also lightly highlight with a nice pale pink or even a white color. Just dab a q-tip in a little bit of powder and highlight from crease to just below the brow bone. Use brown, brown/black or black mascara. The darker the eyes, the darker the mascara can be. To finish the look, add a touch of pale pink, peach or clear gloss.
For a more "playful" daytime look, you can try a nice purple shade, coral, copper, deeper browns (not recommended for pale skin!), deeper pinks, gold, or even a nice green color. Use brown eyeliner or even navy or a light purple eyeliner to let the whites of your eyes REALLY stand out. Use brown/black or black mascara. To finish off the look, try a nice pink or coral gloss or lip color.
For the nighttime, the possibilities are ENDLESS! Silvers, grays, deeper browns, blues, purples, greens, pinks, gold, copper, bronze, you name it! Match your outfit if you dare or blend it in. Try a navy, purple or black eyeliner (just don't go too heavy or you will look like a raccoon). Try a nice deep purple shade on your lids and highlight with a light silver to your brows (try not to be too heavy handed) or even a pink color or a lavender. The goal is to look sexy and not like someone who belongs on the street corner. For a smokier eye: Try a deeper gray color or silver. Apply a dab of black shadow to the outer corners and a light silver up towards the brow. (Revlon has a four-shadow compact that has all of these colors.) Blend with a fingertip. Use black eyeliner and mascara to finish. To add to this look, use a nice deep pink or coral lip color. For darker skins dare to be bold and use a sexy red color.
The goal is to not be afraid with the colors you use. Don't hesitate to experiment with various colors to see what suits you best and doesn't make you look frumpy or too done up. And ALWAYS keep these two things in mind when picking out makeup for brown eyes: the color of your skin as well as the shade of your brown eyes. If you have dark eyes and pale skin, stick to gold tones, pinks and pale browns. Dark eyes and skin, deep purples and browns are fine. (You will look rather scary if you have pale skin and dark eyes and dark shadow on...been there!) Remember, you want to look classy and sexy, not trashy.
