Captain Hook and Peter Pan
Nearly everyone knows who Hook and Pan are, but you never see anyone dress up as them for Halloween anymore. Both of these would be fun costumes that can easily be thrown together at home. For those who are not so creative, you can look around online at the many Halloween costume sites, or search your local town or a nearby city for them.
Tom and Jerry
Yes, I am talking about the cartoon cat and mouse, Tom and Jerry. This would be a cute theme for a father to do with a young son. These costumes are going to be a little harder to make, but they can be done. Again, if you are not creative, looking around town and online is probably your best bet.
Adult Felix and Baby Felix
Most kids probably have no idea who I am talking about, but their parent's most likely do. Both of these costumes are really easy to make at home and require very little. All one really needs is some black sweats, black long sleeve shirt, black gloves, set of cat ears, white face paint and a tail, (which is not hard to make with some black cloth and stuffing). You can even go one further and decorate your sons treat bag to look like Baby Felix's Magic Bag.
Batman and Robin
Dads are their son's heroes, so dressing up like one for Halloween is a super idea and who makes a better side kick for dad than his son, so Robin is very fitting. If you would prefer, you can make these two costumes at home, however they are both common and can be found at most stores that sell costumes as well as Halloween costume websites.
Other great father and son Halloween Costumes include:
