Show dear old Dad how much you really care by creating a one of a kind Father's Day gift on this very special holiday. It doesn't have to be anything that is expensive or elaborate. Simply a gift that shows you appreciate him. And one Dad will appreciate throughout the year.
We LUV Dad Pillow
This idea takes a bit of crafting. Get Mom or an older sibling to help with this one. You will need two pieces of 15 by 15 inch square fabric in denim, double sided fabric thread, stuffing, and marker. Take the marker and write WE LUV DAD on the right side of the fabric. Take bright red thread and hand stitch over the letters following the line. Don't worry. It doesn't have to be perfect. Now sew around the sides and bottom. Leave the top open. Fill with the stuffing. Sew the top and double knot the closing. Present to Dad on Father's Day.
Fathers Day Card
This makes a great last minute gift. Take a picture of dad and glue to a sheet of construction paper that you have folded in half. Write Happy Father's Day with a glitter pen on the outside under the picture. On the inside have all the kids in the family sign their name.
Love Dad
Take a red sheet of construction paper and hand draw a heart. Take a white sheet of construction paper and cut out a smaller heart shape. Glue the smaller white heart on the red heart. Write I love My Dad in white pencil or crayon around the red part of the heart.
Grooming Gift Basket
You will probably require Moms help to put this gift basket together. Find out Dads favorite cologne, after shave, talc, shaving cream, toothpaste. Add a comb, brush, and a few hand towels. Arrange them in a big gift basket. Wrap with a bright red bow and present to Dad.
Custom Toolbox
This idea is perfect for the Dads who like to do repairs around the house. Purchase an inexpensive toolbox. Add a few basic tools like a hammer, a small hand saw, pliers, tape measure, level, wrench. Tie with a big bow, add a gift tag.
Barbecue Kit
This idea is for the Dads who like to barbecue during the warm months. Buy a large apron with pockets at the dollar store or other discount store. Buy barbecue utensils, wrap them in plastic, and place in the pocket of the apron. Wrap the entire apron with a bow, and slip a note or Father's Day Card under the bow.
