The first thing you should try is holding a bake sale in front of a local grocery store. This is tons of fun for children, easy, and actually generates quite a bit of money! So where exactly do you begin? You start by calling your local grocery stores, such Albertsons or Ralphs, and ask for their manager. You introduce yourself and politely request to hold a bake sale in front of their store. Chances are, they will most likely allow you to. The reason why this is a great fundraising event is because it's inexpensive to begin with. You can buy two batches, which makes 48 cookies, of Nestle or Pilsbury pre-made cookie dough for less than $5, given that you purchase them on sale. Suppose you sell each cookie for 50 cents, then that would mean you make $24 from those two batches. You made a profit of $19 out of $5 and if you bought pre-made dough, very little time was spent baking! One of the desserts that sells best at the bake sales I've held with my club is Chocolate Covered Strawberries. Again, it's inexpensive and not at all time consuming. You can price each one at 75 cents each! Keep in mind that success from bake sales comes from how inexpensive the baked goods cost you to make and how little time was spent on making the actual baked goods.
Another great fundraising idea is having your child sell candy, chocolate, or cookies in boxes that they can carry around at school. You can get these fundraising boxes through Hershey Distributors. All you have to do is go on their website and request information on how and where you can get their fundraising boxes. By selling through fundraising boxes, your child will make 50% of what they sell. Usually, boxes will come with around 40 to 50 chocolate bars, while the box itself cost $25. Most likely, you'll have to order a minimum amount of master cases, which includes four fundraising boxes, so plan to hand over a bit of money. Remember, you need money to make money. The reason why this is another great fundraising idea that works is because all of those hungry little students at school will surely be lured to buy something to munch on during school hours. And all your child has to do is carry a box full of goodies in it and they'll be making money towards their tour!
The third and final fundraising idea that I have is holding a store/restaurant fundraiser. You can ask places such as Coldstones or Shakeys if you can hold a fundraising event at their store/restaurant. Typically, groups make 5% to 10% of the profits. So how exactly does this work? Well, first you have to book the place and date which you want to hold the fundraiser on. The key to this fundraising event is to refer as many people as possible to attend your fundraising event and buy something. All they have to do is mention to the cashier that they're supporting your fundraiser or give the cashier the little flyer that you distributed to them. Think of this like making money while sitting and doing nothing! It's a wonderful event to hold because you get to bond with people while munching on some good food. And don't forget to tell your friends to bring their friends as well! Not only will it bring more profit to you, but you'll be making new friends as well!
Well, I hope my fundraising ideas will become useful to you. I've personally done all three with my service club and guarantee you that they work.
