Choosing a kid-centric gift card for the child on your list is a great idea. Kids enjoy the experience of choosing their own gift and having the buying power to pay for it themselves. When selecting a gift card for a child, try to have the child's personality in mind as well as the age, store selection, and the buying power that card would have at that particular store. Here are some examples of great gift cards for kids.

Build a Bear Workshop - Younger kids will love the experience of creating their own plush toy at the Build a Bear Workshop. A Build a Bear Workshop gift card offers a monetary amount of purchasing power, which can go a long way since at BABW many items are under ten dollars. Bear bucks can be purchased for any amount, and they are available online, at the Build a Bear Workshop store, and at most grocery store gift card hubs.

Fast Food Restaurant Gift Cards - Having the ability to purchase their own kids meal may be a fun learning activity for kids. Consider loading a kids purse or wallet with assorted gift cards from local restaurants so they can buy the occasional treat for themselves. Since restaurants carry a variety of food, the gift will most likely be used and appreciated.

Pottery Barn Kids Gift Card - Pottery Barn Kids is a high-end children's store. Typically best known for décor, bedding, and furniture, PBK offers elite toys as well. A child who enjoys decorating his or her own room may marvel at the selections available at pottery barn kids. They even have a section of educational toys.

Disney Store Gift Card - Nearly every child recognizes the popular characters from the Disney franchise, and Disney store carries clothing, movies, accessories and more. Don't have a Disney Store near you? There is an online version where you can even shop by character.

Gamestop Gift Card - If your child loves video games but you're not sure which ones they already own, consider a video game store gift card like a Gamestop gift card. Gamestop carries both used and new video games for a variety of systems and sell gift cards for any amount.

Discovery Store Gift Card - The Discovery Store offers gift cards for educational toys and Discovery Channel merchandise. From scientific kits to Mythbusters videos, there are many wonderful things to buy at the Discovery Store. Kids will love the variety and parents will appreciate the thoughtfulness of giving their child a learning experience.

Toys R Us Gift Card - Toys R Us is a classic toy store with plenty of variety for kids of any age. Many toys at Toys R Us are inexpensive, and for kids who are looking for movies, games, or gear, Toys R Us offers much more than just toys. No wonder so many 80's folks wanted to be a "Toys R Us Kid."

Mall Gift Card - If you're stumped to choose which variety of gift card to choose for your favorite kid, consider a gift card for the local mall. Mall gift cards will work at virtually any shop in the building, offering countless options.

Choosing a Gift Card for your favorite kid is a fun experience. Finding out what they bought with their card will be even more interesting. We always choose a kid-centric gift card for the kids on our list because we want to make sure the person we bought the card for is the one who ends up getting the gift with it. Gift cards that are too generic may be regifted, sold to a parent, or accidentally used by an adult to pick up household necessities. A kid-centric gift card will make sure your gift is used by the one you bought it for. Happy Holidays!
