Gift Card 1 - Toys R Us
This gift card certainly explains itself. A gift card to a store that is all about toys! I picked this one first because this store always has whatever the kids interest is. From Barbie dolls, to GI Joe, a kids can surely get what he wants! When loading the money on this card, make sure you put the amount on the back in bold print so the child knows how much they can spend at the store!
Gift Card 2 - McDonald's
My second pick for gift cards is a $5 gift card to McDonald's. Have you, as an adult decided that you wanted Chinese for dinner, yet the child has no interest in egg rolls, or sweet and sour chicken, so they beg you to get something else. With this card, they can decide to get them McDonald's and use their one chance to change what they are eating for one night. Tell them to pick that night with much consideration because after they use that gift card they will not be able to over-ride what you want again until they get another one.
Gift Card 3 - Barnes and Noble
This gift card can be for any book store. I like this gift card idea because it allows them to get a gift that will expand their mind. When they are able to pick out a book of choice they will use it to learn and gain knowledge instead of just playing with some silly plastic doll that will loose half of its parts before the night is over. Knowledge is the best gift in the world!
Gift Card 4 - Skating Rink
In my town, the thing for kids to do is head to the skating rink every Friday and Saturday night. This is a good option for kids who love to skate and want to do so all the time. If you have a child that does not like to skate, or there is not a skating rink in your town, this gift card could also be a bowling alley gift card, or maybe a put put golfing gift card.
Gift Card 5 - Chuck-E-Cheese
Where a kid can be a kid, this gift card will give your child money to get those extra tokens he certainly will be begging for after only being there for an hour. Make sure you tell him that when he or she goes there that after the gift card is spent, there will be no more extra money for tokens and such. This way he or she will use the gift card wisely, not all at once, because the last thing they want to do is head home early because all their money is spent!
Gift Card 6 - Game Stop
If you have a kid that loves to play video games, like mine does, then this gift card works out perfectly. If you do not have a Game Stop store in your town, it is OK, because they do have a website at www.gamestop.com. There the child can get a great new game or a previously owned one for a better price then they would get at Walmart or even the toy store.
