School Supplies
No matter if your child is heading off to kindergarten or to college there will always be supplies needed. Putting together a gift basket full of the commonly needed supplies is a great way to help your child move into the new school year. Backpacks or bags, notebooks, lunch bags, and interesting pens are a few of the things you can give. Many of these items can be personalized to have your child's name on them. You can even put together supplies that match the school's colors for a fun surprise.
Clothes
Getting new clothes for the school year is something that kids of all ages look forward to. Buy a few simple items that are often needed. Jeans, shoes, simple shirts and sweaters are some of the things you can get. If your child had a particular style try to find a few accessories that you know he or she would love. A new purse, belt, jewelry, or hat in your child's unique style would be a great back to school gift. Decorations
From book covers to lockers to dorm rooms there are many things for kids to decorate when it comes to school. Adding their own personal touch to their school environment can make it easier to transition into. Fun items such as stickers, patches, magnets and colored pens are just a few of the things kids can use to create their own school space. For older kids dry erase boards and corkboards are gets accessories that they can use to decorate their space.
Electronics
Children today are high tech, so a high tech gift may be just what is needed for back to school time. You can go for important electronics such as calculators, Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), or printers, and computers. Or you go buy the more fun electronic gifts such as music players, digital cameras, and cell phones. Which ever you choose you will certainly make your child happy.
Books
If you have a child going off to college you probably already know how expensive books can be. Buying some of their needed textbooks is a great gift to offer. But even if your child is not quite there yet books can still be a great gift. You can find fun, easy to read books for younger children at every reading level. Even teenagers will appreciate books by their favorite authors or in their favorite genres. If you are not certain what kind of books to buy a gift certificate to a local or online book shop would make a perfect gift choice.
