There have always been children that seem more artistically inclined than their peers. They get bored with toys that can only be used for one purpose and tend to appreciate gifts that allow them to think and create. These children are not going to be thrilled with an Elmo TMX, but the following gift ideas should allow their imagination to run free and their brain to grow.
1.) An easel
There are plenty of different easels on the market. Some have chalkboards; others have paper for drawing and painting. There are even different sizes so that toddlers can explore their creative side. Any one of these will thrill a child and allow them to enjoy hours of clean art projects.
2.) Fun-2-Learn Preschool Center
This is aimed at younger children particularly the 2 to 5 year olds. This has an art easel on it so that the younger children can learn to draw, but beyond that it also has an electronic piano so children can also build a love for playing music.
3.) Little Tikes 60 Second Antiskip Personal CD player.
This is almost as much as a gift for Mom and Dad as it for the child. I know that my 2 year old son loves classical music and I know that this is great for his mathematical and creative development. I also know that I begin to tire after hearing the same music OVER and OVER again. This CD player is great because it has a head set made for children, but also has a parental volume control. This allows him to listen to his classical music as long as he wants and allows me to keep a gripe on my sanity.
4.) Music CDs
To supplement to the CD a couple of good CDs are great. This allows children to be exposed to a large number of different composers and various styles of music. Baby Einstein, IQ Baby, and Baby Genius are just a few of the many producers currently on the market.
5.) Aqua doodle
This is best described as a bigger Etch and Sketch. This works by allowing children to draw with water and the images "magically" appear. They even have travel size aqua doodles so children can enjoy this toy on the go. This is another toy great for children of all ages.
6.) 27 Piece Art Set by Early Childhood Resources
This gift is great because it includes everything necessary to paint (paint, paint cups, brushes, sponge rollers, and sponge painters) plus a crate to hold it in. All you need to add is paper and children will be able to pain for hours.
7.) Side Walk Chalk
This may sound very ordinary but it is a great gift. It encourages the creative child to enjoy time outside while indulging their love for art. This gift will allow them to enjoy hours outside making murals for the whole neighborhood to see. The great thing about their art is while you can show your artist off to neighbors you simply have to run a hose on their art and they can start creating all over again.
8.) A children's digital camera
This makes a great gift because it allows children to explore a side of art, they haven't been able to before; photography. The best thing is that the children can enjoy the art of trying to take the perfect picture of a butterfly and figuring out how the sun affects the pictures. They can then go inside and play with editing the picture as well, so they can try different effects on the pictures. The best thing about this gift is after buying the software and camera the only continual cost of this hobby is batteries.
9.) Moon Sand:
Sand
Castle
Kit
This is a great gift because it allows a child to constantly play with it. They can build the castle one way, decide they don't like it and then rebuild it. This sand will not dry out so children will enjoy it over and over again. These kits actually comes with a play mat, molds, tools, sand and carry case.
10.) Journal and pens.
This is a great way to help a creative child learn to express themselves. This gift will help teach them the art of writing their thoughts down. In their journal they can begin to write their first pieces of poetry, short stories, they may use it to draw what they are thinking/feeling, or maybe even use it as a diary. What ever they want to use it for it will be their personal escape.
A creative child is very unique because they are able to see more than what is around them. They are able to imagine what if. They are able to express themselves in more vivid ways. The creativity in them deserves to be inspired and any of these gifts will do just that.
