1. Cars- Boys are drawn to vehicles like moths to a flame. They love transportation toys. They like dinky cars and racetracks and model airplanes. Kindergarten boys love anything with wheels!
2. Books- Boys at this age are still excited about books. They're not burdened by lots of homework. Buy them books that are fun and easy to read. They're not picky if the story is interesting!
3. Puzzles/Board Games- Board games are fun for Kindergarten age boys. Choose an age appropriate game. They also like puzzles they can do by themselves. Try a puzzle with cartoon characters!
4. Video games- There is a large selection of video and computer games available that Kindergarten age boys can play. You could purchase a Webkinz or V-Smile player. If they own a player you could buy a new game!
5. Action figures- Five-year-old boys love playing pretend. You could buy them an action figure. Superheroes and dinosaurs are popular choices. Transformers are also well liked!
6. Sports equipment- Boys at this age like to play sports and be active. They love playing outside at the park. You could buy them roller blades or a baseball mitt. Try a hockey stick, skates or a net!
7. Dress up clothes- Kindergarten age boys like to play make-believe. They would love Halloween every day. You could buy them a wig, funny hat or a mask. Buy a pirate or doctors costume!
8. Building materials- Boys at any age love to build and do projects. Buy Magnetix or Straws with Connectors. Pretend tools and workstations are also good choices. Try blocks or a domino set!
9. Digital camera- There are a few different models that are suitable for children. Choose a camera that is simple and durable. You can buy ones with dual viewfinders and video games. Buy a camera they can use to take pictures!
10. Craft materials- Children at this age are very inventive. They like creating and learning new skills. Try activity books, stamp kits and coloring books. Buy modeling clay or washable paint!
There are so many things boys at this age would like. Simple things bring them joy and excitement. Buy a gift that is durable, educational and fun. Find a gift that is age appropriate. Browse catalogues, department stores and specialty shops. Kids don't care if their toy is expensive. Shop around for a deal and buy a couple small gifts. Good luck and happy shopping!
