You can find these online or on sites like ebay. There are several different colors of pens and highlighters that look like medical syringes. These could be party favors, stocking stuffers or just some fun little items to throw in a gift bag. The nurse in your life can have a bit more fun while writing on charts and even writing at home each day.
Nurse tote bag
Nurses have lots of items to carry so a personalized tote bag would be a great idea. Have it embroidered with their name, title (RN) or the word "nurse." These can be used for school, work or personal use.
Chicken Soup of the Nurse's Soul
This book from the now classic line of Chicken Soup books is a great gift for your nurse. There are two editions filled with stories about actual cases, patients and nursing experiences.
Fleece blanket
You can find cute nursing prints and make them a blanket to snuggle with during their breaks during long shifts. It can also be a nice decorative piece for their home. Make a couple pillows and other items and you have a collection.
A gold or silver necklace
There are some beautiful RN pendants that you can find online to show your favorite nurse how special they are.
Homemade scrubs
Find some fabric the nurse in your life will love and make a set of scrubs for them to wear to work. They'll have scrubs no one else does and think of you each time they put them on.

My sister is a nurse and her daughter will be in a couple years. You've given me some ideas for when my niece graduates.
Scrubs are a great gift. I have a sister who sews and she's made them both sets of scrubs. Another thing is Croc shoes. Nurses love them. Another thing my sister likes is an angel pin made for nurses. She wears it on her scrubs quite often. Great article.
