Great Hobbies for Moms

Sarah Rachel
There are many fun hobbies that mothers can do to help enhance their relationship with their children, and expand on their creativity. As a mother of two, I love to keep myself busy with creative crafts especially those that involve the children. Here is a list of hobbies that any mother may want to incorporate into her life.

1). Scrap Booking- This is a wonderful hobby that anyone can do. You can arrange your pictures in a creative and fun way using embellishments, colorful scrap book paper, and stickers to tell a story about your life and your family. Scrap booking is one of my favorite hobbies because I truly cherish memories. This is also a great hobby that you can do with your kids. There are many craft stores that encourage parents to bring their children to create scrap books together. If you would like to start scrap booking, but you don't know where to start here are some sites you can check out for ideas and essentials for getting started.

2). Painting crafts. Painting is yet another great hobby for mothers to express their creativity and create something beautiful. You don't need to be an artist to paint, with just a little effort just about anyone can learn how to paint. There is so much you can do such as water color, landscapes, or even just painting wooden items. The best nontoxic paint to use with kids is milk based paint. Milk paint can create a very rustic natural finish, and once you start using it you will never want to go back to traditional paint.

3). Organic Gardening. Starting your own organic garden is a wonderful way to get down and dirty with your kids. You can learn how to grow various foods together, and enjoy the efforts of your labor by eating the food. This is also a great opportunity for you to teach your children about the importance of eating organic food.

4). Sewing. Sewing is another great hobby that mothers can do in their spare time. It can be very rewarding to create something special and see your child dressed in the outfit you made. Once you start sewing you may not want to stop because of all the fun things you can create like pillows, dresses, blankets, baby clothes and more. You can also get your child involved and teach them how to sew. It is a great skill for them to have.
