Many people wait till the last minute to go shopping for the Holidays. I personally am one of them. Even though every year I promise myself that I will start shopping early, it never happens. So if you are like me and here it is on Christmas Eve and you have no gift to give, here are some great tips of what you can get.

There are many places online that will help you out of this sticky situation. With the Internet you're never going to be without a Christmas gift. You can go to a store online, such as Amazon, Ebay and have them send the recipient an email with a virtual gift card certificate. This is great because no one has to know that you waited till the last minute they will just assume that you waited till Christmas Day to send the certificate. These can be redeemed on the site that you bought it from and can be in any denomination.

Many drug stores will stay open on Christmas day. Here you can stop and pick up a gift certificate or a gift card for different stores. You don't have to even visit the store to get the card for that store. Many will also sell wrapping paper and gift card boxes so that all you have to do is slip the gift card in the box and it's already wrapped.

The drug stores and pharmacies that are opened are now likely to sell small appliances like hair dryers, curling irons, shavers and many other great gifts, such as digital cameras, cell phone accessories, and specialty stocked Christmas gifts that you can pick up in a pinch. Some pharmacies will also sell coupon books for your area. This is an especially nice gift to give someone as it will save them money all year long. There will be mostly stocking stuffers toys there too, nothing too big or fancy but still a pleasant gift for children.

When in doubt, go with the gift cards. They can be redeemed for the gift that the recipient wants from the store that they want. This is especially true if you get them a Visa or Master Card gift card. These can be perfect gifts for teenagers or elderly people that you need to buy a gift for.

While shopping at the last minute can limit your selection of items to choose from, you never have to be without a gift with shopping online or giving gift cards or gift certificates. To get the best deals on items you may want to start shopping earlier in the season, which is what I say I will do every year, and have yet to really do it.
