Great Italian New Year's Eve Recipes

New Year's Eve is a time for celebration, friends and great food. If you're planning a New Year's party or attending one, you'll want to have the greatest food selections possible. There are a few particular recipes that just sound and feel like New Year's Eve. The best recipes are the ones that can be eaten with fingers or a tooth pick. Many people enjoy having a drink in one hand and a piece of food in the other. Therefore, here are 3 great Italian New Years recipes that will definitely help bring your new year in right:

Cocktail Meatballs

This great hor dourves will disappear off of the serving tray in seconds, so you'll want to make a lot! The best way to make these delicious cocktail meatballs is in the slow cooker. Using the slow cooker will allow you to transport them in a heated device, and keep the meatballs warm until they are gone.

To feed 20 people, you will need: 2 lbs of lean ground beef, 2 eggs, 4 tablespoons of water, 1 cup of bread crumbs, 6 tablespoons of minced onion, 1 ½ cups of chili sauce, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, and 2 cans of cranberry sauce.

Start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees, and then mix together the ground beef, egg, water, breadcrumbs, and minced onion. Roll the mixture into small meatballs. Then Bake in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes, and flip once. Lastly, in a slow cooker, blend the cranberry sauce, chili sauce, and brown sugar. Add the meatballs, and simmer for an hour before serving.

Mini Bruschetta Bites

For 16 servings, you'll need: 2 loaves if sliced rustic bread, 12 garlic cloves, 2 tomatoes, 3 pounds of mozzarella, 16 basil leaves, and 2/3 cup of olive oil.

Heat the broiler and heat a grill pan. Grill the bread on each side until toasted. Rub the bread down with some garlic and drizzle olive oil over the top. You'll then want to top the bread with 4 tablespoons of tomato sauce per each slice of bread. Cover with the mozzarella and then broil until the cheese is melted. This should take about 5 minutes. After the cheese is melted, place the basil over the top, and then you're all set for serving.

Quick and Easy Pigs in a Red Blanket - This recipe is great, if you need a food item for the last second. You can literally have this prepared and made within 20 minutes.

For 20 people, you'll need 2 cans of Pillsbury croissant dough, 1 jar of tomato sauce and 1 package of mini hot dogs.

You can slice each piece of croissant dough in half, drizzle red sauce over all the pieces of dough and then roll one mini hot dog in each piece of dough.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, and then cook for 12-15 minutes.
